    What a day ! We drove 90mins to Lac Aiguebelette and had a wonderful day. By chance we were able to wander into the athletes area and cruised around all their tents. Just like a Sunday picnic, except, stationery bikes, kids paddling pools and rowing boats everywhere. We tracked down the Kiwi's and quickly took a photo and moved on. We watched the activity on the athlete's screen, went and saw the boats being weighed and really felt part of the action. ...

    ... stopped for lunch at 1:30pm and after lunch we had a short run to the bus at the 1950 village, which took us back to the funiculaire and home. The reason for the short day was that our lunch was a seafood platter (lobster, crab, oysters, prawns and sea snails) washed down with a bottle of French champagne ( not Cremant!)
