Our bigger decision was made earlier; we will go to Jersey then return to stay in the same hotel in St Malo instead of going to Quimper further to the west of Brittany. We've decided that we would like to explore the surrounding area, plus we will cut out 8 hrs of train travel there and to Paris.

Will was seeking a caffeine fix. After 20 miles of grind on the boring N176 I decided to cut across country. We came across this lovely little village - Jugon-Les-Lacs. 2 big café au laits to stir the cryo tanks and then back on it.

We travelled down mostly single carriageway roads and hoped that we'd not meet anything coming the other way. Fortunately, we didn't meet anything bigger than a car! I balked at the lane we were supposed to travel down to get to the car park - a car, yes, but not our Rapido. ...

... but there wasn't anything until we rode down a steep narrow exceptionally busy hill and into Cancale. It's obviously a hugely popular holiday place with lots of shops and restaurants on the beach front. The tide was out there too and boats were lying on their side on the muddy sand. The traffic was bumper to bumper so there was no point trying to ride so we walked our bikes along the street and in the interests of safety, we walked up the steep hill at the far end. By ...
