    ... of interest,.. with a visit to the Ponte Vecchio and it's myriads of 'bling' shops to finish the day. I have to complement both of the Ladies,.. they were very strong and didn't break out the credit cards at all. Another casual meal at the La****ns hotel on Monday night and we both planned our departure from Firenze for Tuesday morning.     It's been a wet start and finish to our first wedding anniversary today. Best intentions for an early start we're delayed by heavy rain this morning, but we made the first 50km before lunch in great time and had a big lunch outside the supermarket in Saint Michel de Maurienne. We then climbed Col du Telegraphe and the rain started again just as we arrived into camp in Valoire.     After speaking to some Aussies - Georgie convinced Tony and I to take a 45km ride to Col du Galibier (elevation 2600m). What we failed to realise was that it was a total of 98 round trip with 45km of climbing, through tunnels you could not see your hand in front of you face (at times).     ... we would have to wait a further 45 minutes. We slipped into Bourg du Oisans for a coffee and croissant. Then rolled back to the bus. The drive was amazing up to the lauturet.     Days 1, 2 and 3. Made it from Geneva to Beaufort. So far we have cycled 181.1km and climbed 2140m over Col des Moises, Col de Cou, Col des Aravis and Col des Saises!!! Phew. Got a few really big days coming up so it's an early night after a huge feast. Love to you all ...
