... That's why we decided to take a train to Orleans, about 130 km under Paris. We didn't know exactly what to do so we asked two girls we saw walking were they would sleep. The woman, Melanie, who was waiting for those girls offerd her garden so we could set up our tent. The day after Melanie woke us up with bread, goatcheese and basil fresh from her garden. After this amazing breakfast ...

Our ride from Avignon to St Remy was very short, even after taking the long way round to avoid a busy road. 22 km and we arrived at our hotel before our room was ready. We had plenty of time to ride up into Les Alpilles to the town of Les Baux and see the medieval fortress. It was a pleasant ride with a nice couple of climbs. Sur Le Pont d'Avignon

One of my favourite places I visited in France, Avignon is such a beautiful old city. We stayed at an Air B'n'B rental within the ancient town centre, and were lucky enough to have access to a rooftop patio that looked out over the city toward the Palais de Papes. Had a lovely time strolling along the medieval ramparts, and the gorgeous wall of greenery in the city centre. Nothing bad to say about my visit to Avignon!

When we arrived, there was already quite a crowd and an orderly line had formed. We got in, but the tiny church was full to busting and we had to sit upstairs (I'm sure it has a proper name ...'the choir' or somefing.....with about 20 people in a few square meters, in 30+ temp and no view of the musicians....not so cool! We decided to call it ...
