      ... are truly equal here in Dresden. Not only do they have ampelmann (traffic light man) they also have ampelwoman! Wait for the green woman and all that... I went back to the hostel and did day 2 of my advent challenge. Unfortunately the range of beer in the hostel was poor so I had to settle for a girly beer, a Grafenwalder radler!       ... or train station.

      You can drink openly here and many people do. It's fun to walk around with a beer. But it's a mellow vibe, unlike New Orleans. It's also an artsy city, with lots of nice graffiti (and some bad stuff too) and art shops.

      We saw some fun ska bands at a place called ChemiFabrik. Beers were dirt cheap there and were all delicious Pilsners, my fave. We explored some museums and paid to go ...

      Morning: walk through the city

      I was so stressed running back from the palace to the hotel then to the train station.

      I almost couldn't breathe... really afraid that I could not catch the train to Munich. I frantically checked my phone by the train schedule....

      We bought a cat light at the palace shop. The shop has a cat outside where mom took a picture.

      ... to Koenigstein. We found the Fusten Express to go up there for 3 euros per person. We didn't buy the return ticket...

      We took an open top bus first then a little red train. The entrance fee for the fortress was 8 euros per person. It used a big lift that can fit 60 people or a car. The towers and fortress weren't too impressive. I grew tired listening to the audio guide :P The view was amazing. ...
