First stages of planning
... s why this year I'd decided to "test the water" a bit by travelling alone to Chiang Mai, Thailand for two weeks in November 2012. Everyday I'd talk to people about their travelling experiences and get some advice from them. I don't know if I was surprised or not, or maybe I was not expecting it, but people are so willing to help a fellow traveller out. Even though I wasn't travelling anywhere myself.

Tapas en pokeren
... pokeren, waar we ons gisteren erg mee vermaakt hebben. 35 rummicub-stenen per persoon zijn onze fiches en de verliezer krijgt een gekke opdracht, zoals met kleren aan het zwembad in springen.
Het is nu 12.00u en een uurtje geleden was het al 29 graden. Lekker, maar het slaat je ook wel erg lam ... Tenminste, als straks de temperatuur straks weer oploopt naar een graad of 35. Nog maar even een laatste dag van genieten.

... zit nog een teek op m'n been. Terug naar de auto. Schoenen uit, sokken uit, broek uit. Nog een teek gevonden. Toen was het wel genoeg. Ik wilde naar huis, onder de douche en het zwembad in, om eventuele hardnekkige teken te verzuipen in een overdosis chloor. Thuis nogmaals goed gecheckt en toch nog teek nummer 4 gevonden.
