Auf der gegenüberliegenden Talseite liegt Waldensburg, Andiast, Brigels und Panix. Über den Panixerpass oder den Kistenpass (Kistenstöckli) gelangt man ins Glarnerland.

Vor allem Familien ...
Obersaxen, Switzerland acgwhale... apparently been trying to call us, but had the phone number of the team's technophobe, so he didn't realise!! They had a bit of a problem with working out where the maps we all had joined up, and following the roadbook backwards was almost as bad as going along it the correct way!! We had a Europe Road atlas in our car, so we gave it to them, on the basis that they give a donation to our charity.
<br ...
Landquart, Switzerland dirtyweekenders... us through a shopping centre. There we spotted a couple of uniforms, which just had to be policemen, so we decided to chance our luck. When we explained the mission, they were more then happy to oblige with the photo of the team and one of them. The next question was the 'handcuffs' photo. As I was speaking in German to them, I managed to det the idea over, but the policeman ...
Vaduz, Vaduz, Liechtenstein dirtyweekenders... hike where I forgot my camera. But fear not, for tomorrow, we ride to the top of the mountain on a ski lift, and Ill get great shots.Miss everyone already, and can't seem to get any sleep, even though I was up for pretty much 24 hours.Foods good, beer is better!! Such a romantic little town, missing Bruce a lot here.Ok, that's it. I'll try to post a pic tomorrow! Night!
Lenzerheide, Swiss Alps, Switzerland tbuquicchio... the trail through the forested area, up switchbacks with short stops at lookouts in small clearings to the city below. It didn't take long to reach the castle. It is closed to the public but sits right next to a public road so I walked along the road to get a good look, then continued along the road up a hill a bit further so I could get a nice view.

I navigated my way back down to the city below and checked out some of the shops ...
Vaduz, Liechtenstein travelingdivaAfter our day off we next went by train down along the Rhine Valley past the Canton of Appenzelle and the Finance Capital, Vaduz in Leichenstein. Vaduz and the Principality lies high on the side of the mountain which forms the border with Austria. Apart from the distant mountains this part of our journeys was I should say the least striking in scenic wonderment!!
Vaduz, Vaduz, Liechtenstein ankorjuglor... seemed rather quaint after so many quite huge set-ups. The train set off out of Chur Station, then took a quick left off the main rail into the city's traffic, passing close to the City Gates and up beside a raging torrent that, with the train line and the road, filled the tight little valley up to the little resort called Arosa after first crossing one of the oldest concrete viaduct/bridges in the Swiss rail system c1910. We alighted ...
Chur, Graubünden, Switzerland ankorjuglor... Boxing Day Racing etc.. During late June it proved somewhat damp for us! It rained on us, but then it seems to rain in the early evening in the mountains!
The return route following the Engadine river as pleasant an experience as the rest of the day trip to Poschiavo.
St. Moritz, Graubünden, Switzerland ankorjuglor... mountain streams, villages.....what can I say?

While the train was going through a clearing, Shirley spotted some people taking a break sitting down on a bench, she cried out “Oh look, the peasants are sitting down.” We all got a big laugh out of that one.

We arrived at the train station in St. Moritz and boarded the bus to head into town. What a beautiful town! When you look up, you see the mountains and when you look down into the valley, you see the ...
St. Moritz, Swiss Alps, Switzerland pemalak... go all out for desserts, and it shows…but they also walk a lot, so they can eat like this. When we returned from dinner, it was quite late and we have an early start on Monday... we are off for Lucerne. (Before I forget, the music during dinner was absolutely wonderful. Two young fellows were playing local Swiss mountain music on accordions and my feet just couldn’t stay still. Maggie was the only other one of Our Group who went with us.) We had a great time.
