... crispy and bready. We both had maple bacon but they do a range of sweet as well. They were delicious and the eccentric staff certainly added to the food. On the way back we looked in at Nordstrom Rack, where they send end-of-line and last-season’s stock. There were a lot of fabulous shoes and clothes at great prices.

... time doing this, but it kept everyone in the car not just
sane, but happy. We had virtually no complaints from the 3 kids in the car. They'd just ask when the next rest stop was, and we could tell them (they're all marked on the BCAA maps).

Somewhere in the mid-afternoon, we realized we were making good enough time that it didn't really make sense to stop north of LA and drive in on Sunday morning -- the original plan.

... don't know how I managed it without some assistance from the drive. Stopped at Rolling Hills Casino around Corning, California and Denis finally left up at that casino. I find north of Sacramento the scenery gets more appealing -- rolling hills with mountains in the background to the west and to the east the outlines of mountains in the distance fade in and out of sight. So pretty.
