    ... the airplane and sat out the thrashing from a series of thunder cells. As the afternoon wore on, and I watched the radar, My eternal optimism faded as wave after wave of thunderstorms rolled over the field. I had to admit defeat and beg a car from the flight instructor that showed up and drove into town to get a room at the motel.
