... 2 kilometers in length – one was almost 7. These tunnels are marvels with graceful curves, elevation changes and emergency areas – really awesome work
has been done here. The tunnels were all wide enough for two vehicles to pass each other, I’m glad to say.

We got back to Balestrand around 7:00 or so and had a great salmon dinner near the docks. Having gassed up the truck, we turned it back in and got ourselves ready for tomorrow’s trip to ...

We stopped at a town called Gol, where we picked up some food from the Kiwi mart, which is like the 7-11 of Norway. I got a prawn baguette sandwich, which was pretty good! ... road straighened up somewhat and we were able to make some really good time. Still we got to the ferry dock at 5:00. Great. The ferry leaves at 5:25 only not from Flåm, but from Gudvanger! A 20minute taxi ride away, only there were no taxis around and we'd never make it in time. So we took the 6:00 ferry here and will just put up our feet or something until 12:20 tomorrow, when the boat will finally

... I gawked the whole trip at the spectacular scenery as the fjord surrounds you, opens up, then envelopes you again. The views change all time from gentle green slopes with orchards to dramatic snow covered mountains. The small towns you pull into are quaint and you look in awe at the lone houses kilometres up the steep mountain side of the fjord and wonder how the residents get home! At Eidfjord, you can hang out here for some hours or take an additional "Eidfjord ...
