... peaceful. We stopped to photograph ourselves and distant Grindelwald every 30-40 minutes to document our progress--and the fading light. Walking downhill seems like it would be easier than walking uphill, and it is for the first hour or so. After that, the constant pressure of resisting gravity starts to tell on your legs and toes. ... stop was at Vidy, Lausanne, on the shores of Lake Geneva. A very relaxing few days during which we cycled along the Lavaux vineyards to Cuilly where the town was celebrating their new UNESCO status for the region. Saw the old town within Lausanne and took many cycle rides along the lake shore.

... a little lost as the maps leave something to be desired....ended surounded by farms,cows and not able to see the town. i was looking for the lake...wanted to stick my feet in...but did find the river. what amazing turquoise water...especially after the seine and thames. there are no exclamations on this keyboard...but i am excited!!!!!ooo i found it!!! i just ssat beside the river,writing in my journal,watching the ducks and swans. so great to just ...
