... because there is only one contractor in town and so he can run the show. Makes you realize how nice it is to have all the competition in NY and to get the good prices.
Anyway after a beer and watching some salsa lessons and listening to plenty of salsa, we head home and get a little lost. We end up getting some directions from a stranger who sees we look lost and is really nice. Too nice I think so I think he is trying to set us up to mug us. He tells ...
Even bijpraten over alle belevenissen.
... once for toilet break and all of us making a beeline for it. After picking up some snacks we arrived in the hectic place of Guatemala City and saw heaps of chicken buses - all of them have an exhaust problem as they throw tons of black smoke every time they take off. It was crazy to be in such traffic and chaos again! I also saw so many pinata shops - it was like pinata street and there was also a funeral street...

... turns around and backing him up. I did pretty well too, until my horse started bucking me (3 times - she was a nervous nelly). After that, I didn't like it as much. There's really so much to tell about this trip. I'm deciding now to give you some of the highlights with the understanding that all the food/restaurants was superb. especially "the World's best brownie" from La Pena del Sol Latino. Now, I've been around the world... I can honestly say, this ...
Antigua Guatemala, Western Highlands, Guatemala aniseh... Our relationship is one of both friendship and business, in that we see each other everyday and we're friends, but it's still a business transaction when it comes down to it. She's a pretty alright cook, keeping things interesting. She's also typically religious: religious imagery is throughout the house (see below), goes to Catholic church mm... I think it's a few times a week, etc. From what I gather, she's married three times. Her ...
Antigua Guatemala, Western Highlands, Guatemala jaynichvolodov... down the mountain and made our way back to Rabinal, then to Salama, and then back to Guatemala City. It was a beautiful trip back. Rolling into Antigua was certainly an odd time, it was like returning to Disneyland or something. It was good to be back, but man, Antigua really isn't like the rest of Guatemala. In all serious, one of the greatest, most memorable times I've ever had.
Plan de Sanchez, Baja Verapaz, Guatemala jaynichvolodovso we caught aour shuttle and it took forever to reach antigua, well four hours but it felt like forever. when we got there they decided that actually there werent any buses to coban that dya so we ended up going to this ****** hostel for the night, was like a prison cell and the tv room was right outside our window so no privacy. we wandered around antigua for a few hours and got lunch in the noisiest cafe ive ever been to and ran inot our friend from ...

Antigua Guatemala, Western Highlands, Guatemala kariandlukeybToday we took a four hour drive to a place called Esquipulas, home to the Basilica de Esquipulas where many people come to pay respects to El Senor de Esquipulas. It was worth the drive because the church is absolutely amazing. People come to this church and light candles in hopes that their prayers will be answered. From the ...
