Never have I ever

It has been quite a day. Yesterday was national world aids day so we spent the morning decorating the stage because there was a program in the afternoon. Some of the kids from Buklod were going to be dancing so they were busy practicing all day. I was able to hear the song dance with my father about 500 times if not more. Anyway we all come to work at 9 and the morning was a bit slow but it picked up after lunch. Anyway it was a long ...

A night I don't even believe

... myself into that category as well since I have only been to a handful of GRO bars as well. We started in the American red light district where just like it sounds all of the Americans tend to go. Many of the bars in the area are owned by Americans. I often times feel as if I should constantly apologize on behalf of Americans. However, it really is non of my business what these men are doing there. I am there for the women. So the first bar we go to is a ...

Spontanaity surprises

... Our plan was to miss the weekend in Bangkok as we've already seen it and then meet rest of our friends as we all leave for Cambodia on Tuesday.

We flew out late Friday night after a heavenly 2 hour massage about 15 minutes outside of Bangkok's airport. This is where I had a very flattering but also disturbing experience when a fruity Thai lady slowly stroked and grabbed at my bum and hips seemingly impressed commenting ...

Meeting a Philippino family

From Kiesoon

HI everyone, today we went to Arnold's house for lunch. He is one of James's work colleagues and a dear christian. James and he had a lot of fellowship during recess for a couple of days. James told me that Arnold had strong desire to pursue the Lord. James told him about Watchman Nee and gave LSM website address to him.

We met his wife, Rachel and two sons. their names are Nicorshi and ...

Childhood revisited

... all of the guests. It was quite a big night.
Also for my host fathers birthday he took the entire family and friends swimming. Like I said we were landlocked so we had to go to a resort and pay to go swimming but it was a lot of fun. However here nobody wants to get suntanned so you have to rent a pavilion in order to stay in the shade. I did not mind the sun and it felt great.
During training we also were able to get used to the market. Here there is a ...

Dark Chocolate Day - Bitter-Sweet-Self-indulging

... we went through the past 2 days, I never thought that there would be more in Capones. From the jump-off, we traversed the island and walked along its rocky shores to hike up to the tower itself. Whew! Hahaha, I honestly thought after the boat ride, we would land on the foot of the lighthouse itself. But, it was great nonetheless. I mean, after the trashy area; Capones redeemed itself by letting us see its beauty on the other side. We got the chance ...

Down to the cove

... river creeping down its face. As if trying to save itself, the land trailed to embrace the cerulean South China Sea. Traced by fine powdery white sand, the cay stood out as it intensified the magnificence of the picture. *** The most desirable urge crept in me, to just sit there and soak it all in. I wanted to keep this place as it is and to guard it from any commercial and destructive changes. The thought of this beauty being ...

Off to the Islands

... that we were used to seeing. Today, we head to Apo Island, Dumaguete, Malapascua, and Boracay for the rest of the trip. So, again, we will be experiencing a major flip in lifestyle... a little more exotic, but we will still be in fairly rustic conditions. I will finally be able to start my research and I have a few helpers by my side, as well. That's all for now. I need to go find some breakfast! Hopefully I can update more when we get to the beach. Paalam! Bye!

Orientation Completed, Ministry Begins

... aka: old manila. This was a very old part of town, and we went to Casa Manila (An Old Spanish House), and we took a tour there. There were some students there that got a picture of us because they thought that we were the backstreet boys. They also began shooting a movie at that house while we were there. On Wednesday, we went to Megamall which is 1 km long and 6 stories high. They have absolutely crazy amounts of malls here. So we shopped there all ...

... also live very near the water. There are beaches and lots of scuba diving here, 11 wrecks in this bay. This is my brother at my favorite lunch spot on the water. Here's some of my Subic friends--Lek, Kat and Ted, my friend Jeff (aka "Jetlag") hanging out on the floating bar at Blue Rock on the other side of the bay, and sunset from the floating bar.
