    ... I had an Irish Coffee (normal coffee loaded with whiskey) but at full time i decided to call it a night and go back to sleep - it was 5am. I got up again at 9, worked ot where the minibuses were parked, got breakfast and a shave, realised at 11:30 that the minibuses were overcharging and in no hurry to go anywhere so we got a cab through SJ (a large van infact) for RM80 which was a great result and took us to Tawau airport ...

He said that they do have a playground but it's not on the school grounds. After a short time looking going through the floating villages we continued down the river passing all the royal palaces along the way.     Melati is the same age as my Stevie, and she used to come to the playgroup I ran from my house when I lived in Brunei. She could still remember some of the games we played!     I head out to the front porch with my morning coffee and several residents from the night before stop to chat. It seems that a night spent in the longhouse makes strangers more approachable! We enjoy a quick breakfast, thank the headman and his family for their hospitality and load our gear into a car for the rough, overland trip to Limbang.

    After we had done that, we went back in the boat and trekked down a smaller river to a waterfall, where we had our toes nibbled at by fish, as in those fish bar things which were trendy in the UK a few years ago. Again, the scenery was phenomenal.

    While in the rainforest we saw macaques (which we had already seen in the rainforest near Kuching), what I thought were gibbons but were apparently actually short-tailed something-or-others, hornbills ...
