Busy Bangkok
Arriving in Bangkok I finally could let my hair down and enjoy the beginning of my SE Asia adventure. Days before flying, Philippines was hit was a few typhoons. One of which devastated many areas including Manila and rural north areas. The day I was flying out of Clark Airbase Pampanga the heavens opened and left me weary of wether I was going to …
You need lots of energy here.
Bangkok has changed a lot for the better since I was there last some twenty-five years ago.Now you can stroll around the MBT centre with other up-market malls such as the Siam Centre and the Paragon, all adjacent to one another. You can take the Skytrain to get around the city and its very easy to use.
We much preferred the shopping in the …
One day to see it all (Bangkok edition)
We begin with Tuesday evening, when we flew Thai Airlines from Seoul to Bangkok on a late flight. The experience on Thai was phenomenal, and they are definitely on our list of "must fly again" airlines. Our flight attendant was spunky, with a great sense of humor and very good English. This is as opposed to our Asiana flight attendants, who, while …
Bangkok here I come
My fractured tailbone did cause me a little grief on the 9 hour flight, but with a pillow and a bit of squirming was OK.
Bangkok has changed heaps since I last stopped over here around 20 years ago, but so then have I. Now one can just go to the lowest level and catch a train direct to the city, then a short walk to the Metro (subway). The …
Dining with royalty
I thought I get a feel of current day Bangkok and went for an urban hike, maybe 5-6 hours. The main roads are just full of street vendors'mainly selling food. The fruit are pealed and nicely cut into fancy spirals ready to consume, but also riskier for tourists as sometimes the fruit can be washed in water. In the tourist areas there are massage …

The service was exceptional and the facilities extremely good. The ONLY reason I do not give 5 stars is the "non smoking" room stunk on smoke.

Historical Traveler Reviews Legacy Suites Bangkok
Nice appartments
We stayed at legacys from march 11th to 13th. The personal was very friendly and helpful. The Rooms were very clean, comfortable and well equiped (flatscreen). The Pool in front of the house was even in march not ready so we will have a bath on our next stay. Only the noises at the buliding next to legacys were very awfull, because they started at 8 in the moring.
Great hotel, friendly staff, will stay again
We stayed at Legacy Suites most of February until March 3rd (yesterday).
The staff were very helpful and friendly and available 24 hours a day.
The hotel itself is brand new and very well designed. The room smelled of fresh wood - absolutely fantastic! The TV was a modern LCD, the furniture was all good quality.
The location is fairly good (Soi 29). A short walk to either Asok and Phrom Phong BTS stations.
Right now, there is construction (from 9 am to 7pm) - and it can get pretty noise in the day. If you are staying at Legacy in the next few days, make sure you get out and stay out for the day. We were hoping the pool would be ready, but it got delayed. But I won't complain because we were warned that it is still under construction.
When I return to Bangkok, I will definitely stay at Legacy again. I had absolutely zero problems, I highly recommend it.
Simple but elegant
A nice newly furnished suite hotel, we liked it very much. It is absolutely in the center - 3 minutes walk to the Skytrain station. On the hompage they wrote that the pool will be ready in January 2008, but they were still working on it in February.
The airconditioner was a bit noisy and the breakfast was not really excellent, but I suppose these are not the most important things. The rooom was clean and spacious. It was a really good choice for 3 days, for a normal/low price.
Legacy Suites
I Stayed at the Legacy in Jan08 - while they were still in the process of completeing the pool and Resturants. The stay was comfortable - just.
My room was a studio facing where the pool will be loctated and was very noisy from about 0700 until 2300 ! Room was a smoking room and was very smelly - no non smoking available at the time of checkin !
Air conditioning was uncontrolable - set at a standard temp of 19*c which is ok when you first walk in the room but after awhile it was freezing cold. I had maintence look at it but were unable to change the control.
Breakfast was served in the lobby - the same thing every morning - staff dont speak alot of english or understand alot.
I found the front desk staff very unhelpful in offerring ideas for thing to see and do around the area. I found a great day spa just two soi's away - Davina Spa - brilliant !
Overall - I would not stay this place again and I would not suggest it to anyone.
Not Bad
We stayed there from 11 - 15 Jan. The hotel is very new and the pool and restaurant are still under construction , so be prepared for some noise. Think they will only be completed some time end Fed or Mar.
Rooms were new and spacious, service was also good. As the restaurant is not ready, the breakfast was served at the lobby and its the smae breakfast everyday.
The walk from the hotel to BTS station is about 10 mins, and there is a nice massage place near to the hotel at the main road
Overall a nice and good stay and the front desk is very helpful adn eager to please.
Clean and convenient
A friend that I was meeting in Bangkok reserved my room for me, which is why I stayed at this hotel. The hotel has all suites, but they can vary. For instance, my friend's suite had a clothes washer, while mind did not. So check before you reserve your room.
The hotel is very new and so the place while clean also had the "smell" of a new place. The swimming pool had not yet opened at the time of my stay.
My suite was very comfortable, with double beds and a full kitchen. A nice flat screen TV and DVD player are available. The bathroom was big with a tub and a separate shower cubicle. The drainage in the shower was a bit slow, but still not too bad. Housekeeping was a bit annoying because I had to ask for soap/shampoo to be replenished on my second day. (Bangkok is hot and so you will probably take multiple showers each day!).
The location is very convenient in the Sukhumvit district, close to the trains, grocery/wine and convenience stores etc.
Overall, this can be a pretty nice place once it is fully up and running and once some of the kinks are worked out.
