Fabulous hotel. Recently remodelled, very comfortable. Great staff. Pool was perfect for a 90 degree day. Tons of restaurants nearby. A stopover hotel, but I could only wish all hotels were like this one!

Jack and Elizabeth created this video about their time in SF. A little late in coming, but we hope you enjoy it.

We spent the day in Bakersfield, CA. Why you ask? It was a means to an end. We needed to work toward LV, and it was an opportunity to get caught up on laundry and school work. And, it was free with points.

It has its own bar and grill, pool, spa, and showers, and a clubhouse. Salty’s BBQ has a second location close to this park and is right in Bakersfield. What it doesn’t have is the marvellous orange grove I talked about ...

... wagons rollin! Finally......out the other side we come! Down, down, down into lush green farmland as far as the eye could see. Stan and I look at each other wide eyed and needing to take a big deep breath, because I'm pretty sure the both of us had held it the whole way through! The pavement flattens out....ahhhh....we did it! But right in the middle of our celebratory sighs of relief ......(in a big flash of red across the dash) STOP ENGINE ...

    Supernatural Aid!!

A travel blog entry by catarinoforlife on Nov 01, 2012

We left from La Verne at around 10am this morning. We had originally planned to leave at 6am, but sleepy-heads and showers took up four hours to finally begin rolling. We arrived at Bakersfield at around2pm.

It was quite an adventure! And boy did we get our Supernatural aid! My numbskull of a buddy didn't check his tire pressures before we left, and of course, neither did I! So, coming down the grapevine we got a flat. Luckily, we were nearly at the bottom and could pull ...
