... Davis passed, the home was given to the State of Mississippi by his widow under the terms that it be used as a veterans home for Confederate soldiers and their wives/widows. The property also contains a Confederate Soldier's Cemetery and the Tomb of the Unknown Confederate Soldier.

We leave for Alabama and Florida in the morning. We are hoping for warmer weather in the Sunshine State. Cheers and stay ...

... damage was in neighbouring State of Mississippi from Gulfport to Biloxi, Boats and barges rammed buildings, pushing cars and houses inland; water reached 6–12 miles from the beach. The power of nature! We live with the threat of earthquakes in Vancouver, but folks living on this coast live with storms every year, sometimes multiple times a year!! I'll stick with Vancouver Thanks!

I guess Mississippi wasn't too memorable because I don’t remember what we did here!....oops! Oh wait, one thing! We stayed at a free overnight camping spot where a woman was camping with her multiple cats that just kind of followed her around. They were very friendly. We went for a walk on the hiking trails but didn’t walk long because there were hunters everywhere ...
