Here we are on the Emirates 777 winging our way to sunny Dubai! The plane is not full so we have 3 seats to ourselves. As usual there is a good selection of movies on the entertainment system which should keep me occupied all the way. The temperatures in Dubai are rather extreme at the moment so I don't know how much walking we will be able to do when we get there. The pool at the hotel is nice anyway! I took a few shots from the ...

Seeing the last time I rode a camel was to the pyramids when en route to England in 1967. A 'two seater camel'! I rode with another lady and had a photo taken so bought it and hopefully one day will find the 1967 photo. Returned to the hotel at 11pm for a short sleep - wake up call to be 3.45am! These early mornings must ...

We arrived back with time to spare before our return trip to Dubai. We didn't want to miss it as that would have been disastrous and we had used up our luck for the day with the first missed bus! The trip back was quick we were seated behind the driver who sat 20kph below the maximum speed of 140kph - 120 to 125h. Whoo back!

We arrived back at Vicki and Clint's too late for a cuddle from Stella as she was in bed. A late dinner prepared by ...

... to go and check it out but not that badly so we cut our losses and went exploring the Dubai Mall instead.

The Dubai Mall is pretty much just like any other mall and is located mostly under the Burj Khaleefa, other than being pretty ******* big with all the expensive brand names under the sun it has one really cool (and slightly random) difference. Imagine a mall you know, perhaps it may already have a fish tank ...

... bedroom apartment with sitting/dining area, kitchen (including a washing machine), large bedroom and bathroom. So we were very comfortable especially appreciated as Jim had a cold requiring us to stay in one day.

When it comes to describing Dubai I have difficulty knowing where to start! It is an area of desert approximately 4,000 square kilometres by the Arabian Gulf with some 2.2 million inhabitants. Some people may love it for it's wealth of ...
