Finally - FINALLY - I made it to Dubai.

We were too tired to feel angry or betrayed(!) so we followed most of the other arrivals and headed for the taxi rank. This was a well organised and choreographed process. Within several minutes we were sat in the back of a cab heading ...
... but by the time they actually got up to see it, the door was already locked. The disappointment just kept on coming. Around 11, the adults ordered Indian takeout, even though this was against our 3rd most important rule: NO INDIAN FOOD!. Another big disappointment. The last big disappointment of the day was the fact that the 'free' Wi-Fi in the hotel costed 12 AED for 1 hour! So a bunch of us went back to my room and watched The Fresh Prince until 1 AM.
... to stop at the biggest supermarket I have ever seen to pick up some food for dinner as we couldn't face any more crowds.
Had vegetable pasta with garlic bread, got our bags packed ready to leave next morning.
Dubai is too much for me to handle. We only stopped here to break a long flight and minimise jet lag, it is not somewhere I would go out of my way to visit.
