    ... find my way out of the building to get the photo I am after along with a picture of the currently inoperative dancing fountain- designed after the Bellagio in Vegas of course. Also found a “Timmies” so since I don't drink coffee I had to try their other famous export- the donuts. Not quite as good as home-but what ever is?

    Mission one accomplished and next I am off to find a post office. This seems like an impossible feat. I spent nearly another hour ...

    ... sortie of the day was to Dubai Museum which is located in Al Fahadi Fort. Only 3 dirham to enter and great presentation of the history of Dubai - as well as being airconditioned. Great value.

    Back to the hotel for a short rest and then 5 o'clock drinks on the pool deck of the hotel and then to a Lebanese restaurant for dinner.

    In all, a good day out observing an older side of Dubai and having the interactions with the shopkeepers bartering ...

    ... experience...sand dunes, camels, Arabic food and drink, henna tattoos and even playing dress up with abayas, hijabs and glitzy burkas.

    Dinner was served at sundown entertained by 3 traditional dance shows - belly dancing, fire dancing and what can only be described as a man spinning onstage with a light-up underskirt and silent tambourines as props. Tackier than Blackpool pleasure beach.

    ... today before i start a proper diet. The pad thai was pretty bloody good! I also got some other bits and bobs there to make a cheapy home nandos for me and dad for tea. Dad got back and we had dinner then again i thrashed him at backgammon and actually got backgammon, this is getting to easy. Speaking to Ivar and he has ended up booking a flight and is comin on thursday. This should be good ...
