    ... The sun loungers are very comfortable but also warm - warm as in they feel like they have an electric blanket heating them! Even the ones in the shade. Every now and then a gentle breeze blows but it is hotter not cooler as you'd normally expect. So in the pool water is the place to be.

    ... We could of ridden quad bikes over the sand dunes for a price …we didn’t.

    We were glad to get back in the vehicle with the air con on. I was not looking forward to this…actually I only did it for Geoff.     ... half be back to normal time when we get home ! Friday and Saturday are the weekend in Dubai - their first working day is Sunday - the roads are pretty quiet today and the metro does not run until 1pm as there are no office workers to transport We got a taxi back down to the Dubai mall to have a better look around , the taxis are so cheap here yet to but a drink is ridiculously expensive - on our first day we payed £14 for 2 milkshakes ! 1litre of petrol here is ...

    ... to me! We got to chat with the flight attendants so we were asking about Dubai and they said the sand storm was one of the worst they've ever seen. They said the storms usually occur at the change of the seasons, and usually there are only 2-3 a year. So it's kind of cool we got to see one. Makes for a good story. Also we were on Emirates and it was really good. Def would recommend them as an airline. The food was good and our afternoon snack was ice cream! Yum!! And now Rome!! Stay ...

    I nearly fainted when I walked back out into 36C heat.

    Tomorrow is our last full day in Dubai. Plans are that we attend a performance of Seussical the Musical at the girls' school. Sarah plays a Zebra in the chorus.

    We board the cruise ship on Monday for the second half of our Middle Eastern adventure.
