... Dubai Marina to get to Oscar and Uncle Owen. It was very strange to see Christmas trees right underneath the palm trees outside the restaurants.
We had a glass of champagne while we watched Oscar open his present. It was the play mobile goods train and boat that he has wanted for ages. Good old Father Christmas! Uncle Owen and Rajwah had as much fun putting it all together as Oscar did playing with it.
Soon it was time to get in the car and ...

Actually it was quite a good idea as it required minimal effort in the heat and also helps put the city, sights, locations and history into perspective in ten different languages. ... my fault - misguided by someone we asked). Also misplaced my map.

At night when Dubai becomes more exciting head to the new Souq area of the Dubai mall and watch the fountain display. Every half hour the fountains complete a choreographed song with water, music and lights. Got quite wet as the water spurts up several storeys high. Again another Guiness World record holder. It can spray 83,000 litres of water 500 feet in the air at any moment. Amazing.
