Yes, George and I are in London! Over a week has now passed since we left Salisbury, and set off to see Angie (George's sister), and her husband Colin. Angie seems to have been celebrating her 60th all year, but the actual date was December 4, so it was great to wish her a Happy Birthday close to the actual day! Started the day with a visit to Tower of London and Tower Bridge. The red poppies were planted all around the tower in the moat, looked very impressive. The only thing I can say is ****. I hate long flights. It is my ambition to be able to fly Business Class. I am so glad we upgraded to Premium Economy. Seats are wider, more leg room, first on and off flight, great service and food. Highly recommend. Would never do zoo class long haul again. Early dinner then bed. Travelling for 24hrs by the time we got to hotel. Not much else to say. Off on our trip ...
... actually take a bus from Trafalgar Square to Marble Arch as we wanted to have a Lebanese meal on Edgeware Road, which has become a centre of Lebanese and Middle eastern eateries. Yum, delicious food. Then after eating we felt recharged and walked all the way back to our hotel! Amr measured our distances and our total walking came to about 33 kms!!! Lovely flat easy walking, but a lot further than the distances on our walk! Now fallen into bed and hopefully will sleep ...
... to do it which was quite amusing. We then spotted Hampton Court Palace and Twickenham Stadium in the distance and stopped on the way back to the tube for a coffee. We arrived back at West Ken around 1pm giving us just enough time to grab a bite and finish packing up ready to leave for Heathrow at 2.30pm.
