Today we left Ireland and went to London. Once we arrived at Heathrow airport we took the tube to Russell Square which is the stop nearest our hotel. We were able to drop our bags off at our room then hopped back on the tube to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. We split into two groups with one group doing a walking tour of the facilities and the other group doing a biking tour around the Olympic park. I was able to do the biking tour. Well the day started with us having to carefully plan our trip up to central London, because December 26th is actually a holiday in England… it's boxing day!! Started the day with a visit to Tower of London and Tower Bridge. The red poppies were planted all around the tower in the moat, looked very impressive. Saw the Crown Jewels, no photography allowed though. Did a quick tour through so we could get to our tour bus in time for the Harry Potter Studios tour. ...

A big day today. Caught the tube to Victoria station this morning then caught the bus on our tour of outer London and the Midlands. The bus was very crowded and rather unpleasant by the end of the day but the sights were fantastic. Windsor Castle was as brilliant as I remembered. It is one of my very favourite places (particularly St George's chapel). We weren't allowed into the State Rooms today as ...

We slept in a bit later this morning, only getting up at 7:00 a.m. Once everyone was ready we met in our room and headed down to the breakfast room for a full English breakfast. The Ibis Hotel at Earl's Court does a wonderful job at breakfast. Food was fresh and even the croissants were hot from the oven. It was a full spread of bacon, bangers, eggs, cereals, fruit, yogurt, pastries, hash browns, sautéed mushrooms, grilled tomatoes were among some of the options. ...
