... for about a mile or so, passing some holiday apartments and houses and a small harbour, until this road ended. We turned around and drove back into Boukka, to the harbour and parked there. The area has the feel of a has been resort, a little run down, but maybe that's just because it's winter time. Marky and I then went to the beach. We met some lovely Brits, Claire and Tim and had lunch with them. A Greek man who knew we had a Greek connection to the local village, shouted us a bottle if Ouzo!! Marky and Tim loved it. Three glasses of that stuff ...

... ends up, 10 years later, with all men dead and and having to kill a bunch of guys who are after his wife. Comparatively, he had a much rougher time but I am pretty sure Homer embellished the story a little. On our last day on the beautiful Greek Island of Ithaca, Joanne and I were guided on a mountain walk by a Dutch woman who lives there. Her name is Ester Von Zuylen and she showed us ruins that some archeologists think are the palace of Odysseus. The place was ...
