    ... to Mykonos and back in one day required a very early flight from Thessaloniki to Athens, a connecting flight from Athens to Mykonos, and then a retracing of those steps in the evening, from Mykonos to Athens and finally Athens back to Thessaloniki.     Today was a public holiday (see yesterday's entry) and everything was closed except the cafés which were doing a great business. The sun was out for a lot of the day too.

    The school kids were out in force again with their marching and drumming and having a great time. There were priests and lots of dignataries laying wreaths and then more marching and drumming through the lined streets. It was quite moving to see.

    ... bottle which was only 12% proof, and he did have some pure distilled raki which David said you could fuel a rocket with! We laughed all the way home and figured we were probably his best customers for weeks!

    ... no waves, it was easy to doze, then take a dip in the cool water. A first, it feels like there is no way Leigh was going to go in too far, but a slow immersion, a few inches at a time, and the body gets used to chill and it becomes refreshing.
