Bye bye Greek Islands...back to Athens

A travel blog entry by nicolapollard on Aug 06, 2014

... Not enough though! The rest of the journey was so uncomfortable and crammed but we finally made it back to Athens at about 8pm. We still had to get the metro to our hostel which took about an hour so it was a long day. The hostel has very dodgy aircon so we all arrived feeling disgusting but no time for freshening up as we wanted to go out for one last group dinner and it was already 9! We pretty much dropped our ...

    Paradise beach round 2

A travel blog entry by nicolapollard on Aug 04, 2014

... so the bar cleared out about 8 for everyone to get ready. We met up as a group for some pre drinks then went down to the beach bar for the party. I had bought a 2L bottle of wine for only €6 (saving money) and our rooms were so close that instead of buying drinks we could pop back to the room for a top up, therefore another very cheap night! The music was so much better tonight because it was actual songs so we ...

    Paradise beach, Mykonos!

A travel blog entry by nicolapollard on Aug 04, 2014

... at the end of the night (5min if you want to go via the gyros shop). We met the group for some pre drinks and didn't even go to the club until 1am! Everything happens later here. The club was really different to what I expected. It was actually open air so not a hot stuffy indoor club with no room to move. We actually had enough space to dance and we all stayed as a group so it was a really good night. The music was a bit **** since it was a DJ ...

    Party boat in Paros x

A travel blog entry by nicolapollard on Aug 02, 2014

... it was nice and quiet. That night we walked down to the Main Street for dinner by the beach. It was really busy but lots of locals and families so much more authentic Greek. We had dinner as a group then walked around the cute cobbled shopping streets. It was really relaxing! The next day was our boat day out. We met in reception at 9 and headed to the water. Our boat was like a pirate ship with a downstairs ...

    Byzantine Path, Piso Lavardi etc

Got up early today and walked down to the port in order to get the 7:30am bus to Lefkes where we started the Byzantine Path walk. Lefkes is a beautiful little town made up of winding alleys with the traditional white washed walls covered with flowers etc. The walk itself was fairly uneventful apart from some talk of snakes and also the ridiculously strong wind that was blowing. We ended up hitting the coast at a small seaside spot called Piso Lavardi where we had ...
