Also visited the family orchard this afternoon, with lots of grapes used for wine, olives used for oil and many other fruit/veg. The access to some fresh fruit is very much appreciated; especially as the previous countries have restricted us to meat and potatoes alone! Being in the Mediterranean is certainly having it's benefits. Heading out for good ice cream. (more food) Needless to say the expectations are high!

We can walk to all the famous tourist attractions of Florence although our first tour was a 2 day hop on, hop off bus tour. ( We've found the bus tours to be a really quick and easy way to get a feel for the cities we're in and to see the major attractions at least once!) This is definitely one of the perks of being a visitor, I am constantly awestruck that I am even here. Sometimes it hits me in waves, and I have to take a second to absorb how lucky I am to be here. Also seeing these students, who were not so much younger than myself, gave me a smug sense of entitlement, that at least I appreciated what I was seeing. Nice. ...

BACK TO THE HOTEL FOR A SIESTA AS ALL THE ITALIAN’S DO,
LATER WE WENT FOR A WALK TO THE PARK UP THE ROAD AND ROUND THE BLOCK AT AROUND 5PM. IF WE THOUGHT THAT WE HAD BEEN IN A TRAFFIC JAM EARLIER IN THE DAY THAT WAS NOTHING COMPARED WITH THE TRAFFIC MOVING (MAINLY NOT MOVING AT 5PM.)
