As we now needed to be in Barcelona in 5 days to meet Kim's mum it was time to say goodbye to Italy. As the day was overcast and the drive on the autopista easy we just kept on driving (from 8am until 5.30pm) and arrived into Les Acrs in France time for a beer and dinner then bed.

Forecasted for rain today but it held off until late afternoon which gave me time to replace the washer in the gear box and for Kim to go for a run, which she was hankering for as she had been getting a little cabin fever of late due to the rain and lack of exercise/time outside!
Wait a minute, we’re not traveling to Italy until tomorrow…but we spent the day in Arles exploring Roman architecture.

My seafood dish had a variety of shellfish in their shells, and other seafood, and was delicious. Our desserts were a mousse made with raspberries, and soft meringues floating in thin custard (the descriptions do not do these dishes any justice at all).

... a while and then it was time to roll our big fat bellies into bed. The following morning the view from our room looked even more spectacular than the night before. We went downstairs for breakfast and had to do a double take. The table was so full of food that there was hardly any room to eat! From fresh baguettes and pastries to home made muesli, farm fresh fruit, brewed coffee and hand pressed orange juice - we were impressed, especially since breakfast was included ...
Castellet, France glenn_christieThe plan was to go to Arles, have a look at their Roman ruins and then come back to Nimes and look at theirs. Funny how plans never workout There had been loads of rain quite recently and a French woman on the plane said that some of the roads, well, the road to Arles had been blocked, but was now open. In the car and on the road however, the roads were blocked and the police were not letting ...
