... quite a while in the cathedral....just amazing. It's hard to fathom just how old it is and how it was built. To think we climbed the same stairs that Thomas Becket once climbed. ... lovely in the watery winter sunshine. It was so cold that in places where there were ponds and inlets the water was frozen. The sun became stronger so that when we got to Amboise it was almost impossible to photograph the chateau.
