Luckily enough it was behind the first corner we tried.
After settling and leaving for food we returned to a sauna of a room. Apparently our radiator (not attached to the wall) was left on full. So we are now settling in for an overly hot nights sleep, training for Asia perhaps?
At least we know our way back to CDG for tomorrows flight, thats our silver ...
As for me I’m not on my way to Burundi. I’m now in Paris, but still have a long trip before me. I left Dallas yesterday at 1:00 pm on a flight to Boston, where I had only a few minutes before boarding the overnight flight to Paris. Here I have a 3 hour layover before an even longer flight to Nairobi, which I will leave just before midnight local time for a flight to Bujumbura via Kigali. I should arrive at a little before 2:00 am (!) and hopefully grab a ...
... on Day 3, when I didn't do anything terribly exciting or take any interesting pictures. And Stephen is so terrified of being immortalised in my blog that he has become quite circumspect and even took it upon himself to warn Jan and Pat of the dangers of my blog. Nevertheless I am not too concerned as I am confident this behaviour is not something Stephen can maintain for any length of time. I suspect I will have plenty to report ...
... in one day if we were to pay an entrance fee; as the museum is huge, perusing the galleries for any long stretch of time would be exhausting, so it will be nice to return several times. Yesterday, we hit the most famous — and most "touristy" — piece in the museum: the Mona Lisa. Quite small and protected by many layers of glass, it was a bit anti-climactic, perhaps, but still fun to see.
... dinner, we got back onto the coach for our tour of Paris. Ricardo drove us all around the city (and did an awesome job of navigating the roundabout around the Arc de Triomphe!).Then we got dropped off at a café where we were served champagne and escargot. Almost everyone tried the snails, including me. It didn't really taste like much. It was just buttery and garlicy. Then we walked back to the coach, which took us back to the hotel, and I went to bed around 11.
