Saigon....the commerical capital of Vietnam
I think I will begin this section of the blog with our last night in Mui Ne. During the few nights we stayed there we shared our room most nights with lizards, small little ones used to somehow get in, following the light from the room. Ironic that in the nicest hotel we had so far it was the only one we had any sort of insect or reptile in our …
Crazy Hot
I woke up at 6:00 A.M. and stared out our hotel window for a while. It was quite interesting to see the men already hanging outside the fronts of shops smoking and drinking their cafe sua da (coffee with condensed milk) and the women putting out their goods for sale.
We made it down to breakfast around 8:30. Our hotel gives us quite a …
Cu Chi Tunnels
Today, we took a tour bus out to the Cu Chi district of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) to view the Cu Chi Tunnels. The Cu Chi Tunnels is a network of underground tunnels and is most famous for being used by the Viet Cong as hiding spots during combat. Vietnam History Museum & Emperor of Jade Pagoda

I was not able to take a lot of pictures here as there was a charge if you wanted to take pictures. The charge was double the cost of the entrance fee which I thought was ridiculous.
Inside, there is a vast …

TravelPod Member ReviewsBeautiful Saigon Hotel Ho Chi Minh City
Nice hotel, clean rooms (our with bath for 40 USD/night, very clean except for the ants in the bathroom), friendly and helpful stuff, perfect breakfast.
The noise outside during night is very uncomfortable, even with the earplugs, so be sure to take room in the upper levels, preferably not facing the main street.

This hotel is excellent! Staff are friendly and helpful. Room is clean and comfortable. It has cable flat screen TV, air conditioning and hot water.
Breakfast is included and is good. Also Beautiful Saigon Two has a great restaurant with amazing food for very cheap prices.
