... the company who told him to continue (2 tyres each side & so balancing on the one) for 30 mins when we stopped, all stayed in bus, tyre changed & off to Naples. Wow traffic chaos but fun. Boiling hot, people jumping out of cars to walk, scooters everywhere, all windows down so everyone could talk as they passed each other....mad but friendly! But there is the hotels private beach on the other side of the pool with steps into a seawater pool. Frustratingly hardly any internet...how we get ...

Wonderful place with 10 rooms, fantastic host Paola and his wife Concheta who does the cooking. Incredible 4 course meal, everything home made, even the sausage and of course the pasta. Breakfast again was right down my alley....2 ...

... The Italian man sharing our compartment is sleeping. A few minutes to half an hour after he starts nodding off, me and Katrina start doing the same. I suppose it's due more to the gentle rocking of the train, or the boredom of the journey, but I like to think that in part our communal sleep is due to instincts. Like when my supervisor Beatrice once said that you should always try to study in a busy but quiet library during exam time. Although the library might be busier ...
