... amount of respect for food and eating. I've definitely sensed some eye rolling/sighing/tutting at the undue haste with which we approach our meals. Chris has even caused a mild panic several times by getting impatient and doing the unthinkable and going up to the counter to pay!

... He took our orders, entertained us with stories of his family and cooked our meals. Absolutely brilliant. After lunch we head back down the hill and had to reverse back up two or three times to let other vehicles past. Needless to say Mum was not looking and not that happy. ... has a very long and lovely pedestrian only shopping street with lots of cute restaurants. Their boardwalk is very wide and very long and I could imagine how nice it would to stroll along there every night after dinner.

We really wanted to stay in Menton for this trip but we were unable to find a good apartment to rent. Going there made me think that perhaps we should have tried harder... That being said, we love Antibes too. ...

... Most beaches have sand or different colors of sand....not here! Large flat rocks as far as the eye could see. Very different from what I've been used to but no biggie. Explored each city by foot which was awesome. Got a feel of the local scene and lifestyle. People down here are pretty easy going and polite.
