    It was such a shame with the rain, the roads would have been brilliant in the dry. We had gone about 120 miles but because of the detour the satnav was saying we had another 60 miles to go. We were long overdue for a coffee stop.

    We came across this small pretty village with cobblestone streets and stuff and pulled onto this square where I had spotted a cafe in the corner. In we go ready for a warm.

    ... In fairness, neither Will nor I could tell the difference so we had to have several goes.At the end my mouth was that numb you could've pulled out 3 teeth and I wouldn't have felt it.

    ... We didn't get to the hotel till 6.15pm where we promptly had a couple of beers and de-briefed the day.

    By the time we hit the town it was gone 9. Quite by chance we were 100 yards away from the bar where Meynell had got ****** in June so in we went.

    ... up. Hmm perhaps I misheard him, thought he said chicken but this is red like Ceasers small dog food. Anyway, try it, not bad. take a photo (a la Meynell), wash it down with some cider.
    Out comes beef tongue with salad and mashed potato, covered in tomato and vegetable sauce - quite tasty. it looks like slices of beef and is very soft, perhaps it's not the animal's tongue after all.
