... Enjoyed our first tapas and sangria where after made our way down to Zarautz. We had delicious breakfast on a terrace overlooking the ocean and the swell that just entered. Continued to meet up with old friends of Sahid from Venezuela Denis and Roxana. A dynamic couple that showed us around Mundaka, a pitoresk village, with again great views and that day big swell! Sahid went for a surf and i enjoyed lunch with my new friends. 3 courses including drinks for 11 ...

... out to dinner for as long as humanly possible and were able to dine at an authentic Basque restaurant. It was 8 o'clock, yet we got one of the first tables at Txotx, a traditional Basque cafe, recommended by our guide. By the time we left - closer to 10, the place was filling with locals. Drove through Guernica, site of severe bombing in the Spanish Civil War in April 1937, with huge civilian casualties, and inspiration for Picasso's anti-war painting "Guernica." ... to Italy, and was really disappointed in the coffee!! For me the cigarette smoke in the cafés was painful, and I have to say I'm not a fan of people having their dog sitting on their lap in the middle of restaurants!

... train station. The taxi driver wasn't the happiest when I explained where I was going - it was not a very big journey. The ibis room was basic but clean and the staff were very helpful. After unloading my bags I went for a wander to get my bearings, found the tourist office and also the main shopping areas and tourist attractions. The tourist info centre wasn't open on Sundays so I would have to return tomorrow to check out the bus details for travelling to San Sebastián. ...
