... remote Alpine Valley in France with 50 strangers from around the world everyone singing "Yellow Submarine" Just when we began patting ourselves on the back for doing this hike, we talked with a 72 year old Dutch man who had hiked from Holland to Istanbul! Stepping across the border from France into Italy on a high mountain pass was a thrill we will never forget. it felt good to arrive in an actual village, Courmayeur Italy where we could finally check email and go to an ...

... day making up for the not so brilliant yesterday. We also spotted at he side of us and a few doors down 2 campers very similar to ours, our neighbour from Ireland and the other from Wales. Descriptions of the walk compared it to the Mer de Glace glacier we went to on Monday ...

WOW,WOW,WOW is all I can say to describe this mornings ride, we rode up hills and cruised back down with mighty mountains to our left and right. We were cycling through the mountains although there was still a few descent climbs for us. I got the biggest thrill and it really felt like an achievement to conquer some of these. Way up in the mountains you would think you would feel isolated - not in France there are small villages ...

Chamonix is only 14kms from the Swiss border and although deciding against going to Geneva, we wanted to see a bit of Switzerland. We drove up the valley from Chamonix to Argentiere and Vallorcine in France to Trient and La Forclaz at the top of the mountain pass looking down the valleys and open lands of Switzerland. We decided not to go to Martigny. We are aware that if we move onto ...
