Great hotel. It is very hard to find a hotel that will fit 5 people. This was perfect. 2 separate bedrooms with a shared door. Great service, breakfast was very good

... 2 Sept) Paris Okay. Time to get on with our visit so we head into the city to go on a guided bike tour. When we get to where we were supposed to meet our guide, there was no one in sight, but we put this down to us being a bit early. There was, however, a local market happening. Alita was delighted. Apparently there is a law in Paris that requires every district to hold a local market at least twice a week. Needless to say the start of each touring day in Paris thereafter ...

Got up early to finish things off, check out and head to Gare de Nord to catch our train to London. When we returned to the Eiffel Tower, we ran into yet another pick-pocketing situation. A woman came over and asked if I spoke English, when I said "yes" she put a clipboard in front of my face and a pen. The paper wanted me to sign a campaign for something that I refused to read. I was smart at this point. I know that somewhere in fine print it said something that explained that by signing that I would need to give them money. Fair ...

So when one is a tourist and is dazed by the magnificent sights while at the same time attempting to gather ones bearings and orientation it is very easy to lose belongings. To date we have lost one small travel bag with some minor personals such as sunglasses and reading glasses amongst other. ...

... with people taking pictures and watching the French architectural wonder and we were asked many times to take photos for people in the park. As we were sitting on the grass, the tower suddenly lit up and started sparkling and flashing lots of little lights which none of us were expecting, and judging by the screams of delight of the hundreds of people around us, it appeared that not many were. That was a great way to end Lauren and my first official day in Paris.
