... tickets to see the astronomical clock in the cathedral do its thing at noon. It's similar to a giant cuckoo clock with animated figures that move on the hour. After about an hour wait it was somewhat of a disappointment, but we’ve probably been spoiled by the animations at Disneyland. Considering this was designed and built in the middle ages, one shouldn’t be too critical.

level is stupendous! Despite the intrusion of scaffolding, it is an exquisite

... the ferris wheel was right down the street, the Louvre was down the opposite way, I had just had a pain au chocolat... life was good. We walked around outside the Louvre to take it all in, but we didn't go in because that also would have been an entire day commitment. And the day was too beautiful to spend in a museum! So seeing the Mona Lisa and other master pieces is also saved for my next trip.

... for a taxi-11 euros. So we lost on one taxi ride and picked up on the other.The hotel is lovely with spacious rooms, friendly staff and a good location. That didn't stop us from getting lost tonight as we wandered around looking for a convenience/grocery store and then tried to find our way back to the hotel. All part of the fun. Paris is a maze of tiny windy streets but there is always someone to ask. I'm getting very good at that. Looking forward to our first full day in Paris ...

Good night out with the Turveys and McWhinnies last night and we were all reasonably well behaved......(we didn't go overboard on the grog). Good location for dinner too...lots of activity etc to keep you interested during dinner.
