We had a lovely day of driving this beautiful island. I do think it is by far one of the prettiest islands we have seen. It's very mountainous and everything after that is seascape and beautiful beaches. We'll climb to over 3,000 feet elevation, and in 10 minutes we are at a beautiful beach.

No hurry to go ashore, must have been around 11am. Tendered in the lifeboats today. Caught the tourist bus, again excellent value for 1.5hrs, €10ea. The commentary was not very informative, brief, and hard to hear, but the sights, the BEACHES, were gorgeous. The cemetery was something else entirely, 45,000 graves - we thought it smelt too! Tuesday 4th August
We woke up in the port of City of Ajaccio, on the West side of Corsica. Birthday boy Kevin was greeted and serenaded to a happy birthday by everyone!!!! No sleeping in......time for a walk down along the boardwalk.!!!!

Once the coach trip was over we headed out on foot into the city again. Some of the streets were built on deep slopes which added to the quaint appeal of this place. It was nice to slip off into one of the more shaded side streets to escape the sun and also to explore some of the local merchandise. David and Gary both found Corsican Whisky which they bought. ... vanilla custard. I have no room left for this bountiful fare! Then, suitcase out of the room by 11:00pm and sweet dreams until the morning when we leave this magnificent 6 star floating hotel. I could never have imagined just how amazing this cruise has been - in every way!
