    Day 14...fried food poisoning

... 12 we had done a measly 25 odd km, and I wasn't really feeling it.
Every town seemed somewhat abandoned, and then youd come across a shop that just blew your mind. At some point we found a shop that restored and sold vintage motorbikes. In the middle of no where.
By 2, we'd reached neuf-chateau, and were feeling rather peckish.all along the way we'd been seeing these ...

... Morvan National Park, where we enjoyed some good walking, swimming, and blackberry picking. Here is nature, ‘au naturale ‘. We even got to hear a celtic band there – accordion, and uillean pipes.

-Long bike rides along the meandering river valleys in the Bourgogne, and canals of the Saone, Yonne and Nivernais, which all have well maintained bike paths, interspersed with beautiful little villages such as Dole, Gurgy, ...

... 3 was probably a little over ambitious. Nigel and R2D2 took off a little late but overall it's been a good first day. Lots of travel on what can only be described as shockin roads in Belgium was a little boring at times. But the strawberry flan, The Twits, a great swim followed by a superb pasta were the highlights for me. Yup the first day went well. Now for a monster drive to Switzerland for our first day under canvas. I hope I remembered the poles ...

Walk till I can walk no more

A travel blog entry by dutchnomad on Apr 07, 2015

It's a beautiful day but because the campsite is expensive, I'm reluctant to leave early. I discover that one of the coin machines is broken. I can shower as long as I want. I hang my towel to dry and break up camp. I'm feeling like walking. Today I'm heading for Neufchateau. It's quite hilly an in some point I'm just to tired to keep walking and I start to hitchhike. I'm getting picked up by a nice girl quite ...

    Overnight at Charleville-de-Meziers

A travel blog entry by thereays on Sep 16, 2013

Monday morning dawns clear and sunny, and we set off for Charlesville de Meziers.

Apart from some heavy traffic, on the outskirts of Lille, a completely uneventful drive.

The Aire at Charlesville de Meziers is full, so, we have to use the adjacent campsite (Camping Mount Olympus ).

We have time for a walk into town, and a beer, before the rain starts.
