... menu at a restaurant in the main square. Back to the tent for rest and recuperation. Very hot and we are being irritated by thunderbugs or thrips. We were under no illusions when we started that things might not always go our way. The campsite is a bit of a letdown and the bugs are bugging us. We are going to move on early tomorrow to the north coast. Bread, cheese and saucisson for ...

Marboue (N48 6.744' E1 19.722'). Another Aire. Toilets and emptying facilities for free, but Electricity and Water are chargeable (Electricity 2Euro for 55 minutes, extortion!). There is space for about ten vans, and, by evening it is full. Not surprising really, it is a very pleasant spot, on the banks of the River Loir and off the busy main road (N10).

It is here, I find, the helpful French people at Uzerche did not do the internet registration ...

Today we drove to Orleans to take a look where Joan d Arc battled the English in the 1429, during the 100 year war. She was later burnt at a stake at the age of 19 with suspicions that she used witchcraft. Very modern town with trams everywhere, had to keep our wits about us or could have easily got knocked over. Then a long overdue visit to maccas for a free wifi hour to try to catch up ...
