... boulders and rocks in varying shapes and sizes as if they had been flung there by some giant hand and apparently they date back to prehistoric times.

Fishing and pleasure boats line up along the small port, and along the quay are small shops and cafés full of people enjoying the splendid warm sunny day. We attended the tiny market with 4 stalls of vegetables, some fish and baked goods where we ...

PS a very scary night. We were all awoken by a howling creature and we were so scared until it went away!! So after a disturbed night we woke to clear skies, very cold air and a clear sky. We got away early -8.45 to take a advantage of the forecast good weather. With 30 miles under our belts by lunch time we had crossed the last of the Marais. So, following the advice of my host dad, a master of travel blogs, I am going to compare and elaborate. The differences between Salisbury and France are quite noticeable. Starting at the moment when you wake up. I have noticed that here in France the buildings are built differently and the hardware seems to be nicer. So the idea of ...

      Day 11 Sables d'Olonne

After a quiet night on the campsite we enjoyed hot showers and a quick breakfast before setting off along the sea front - another varied seashore of sandy beaches with surfers and swimmers, sand dunes, rocky islands and busy port of Sable d'Olonne. The highlight was a stop at a restaurant for a 3 course meal, languatines, sea bass and rum baba - yum yum. A couple of days to La Rochelle ...
