    ... a bit of mystery to our walk. It was like being in an abandoned city. Passing a black and white cat we made our way up the scorched hill from the rear, mostly unused side. Olive trees grew small and scraggly along the slope and cactus contrasted this with thick green bush like plants springing up in dips. Every so often a little lizard would dart for cover under them.     ... excellent camp right in town, and as we drove in, saw a bunch of fellow-inmates queuing to get into something, which turned out to be a free wine and local-food-degustation put on by the Tourist Office. Needless to say, we screeched to a halt and bolted back there to participate, and became irretrievably adopted by a some domineering German guy, who, although well-intended, proceeded to talk our ears off for a couple of hours.     ... route back which was great as it gave us another perspective of the countryside. This route took us through Avignon and we stopped for a 'nature break' as they say on the Tour, found a modern shopping centre with a nice restaurant so decided to stay there for dinner which was very pleasant.     This morning we left Switzerland with a heavy heart, to head back to France for the next part of the tour. The majority of the day was spent on the bus traveling back over the border.
