Grand Terre, New Caledonia - on our way here, we passed through a HUGE thunder and lightning storm, which we heard from other passengers was the remnants of the typhoon that had just hit the Phillipines. The lightning was so bright, it was caused these monster flashes through our closed curtains in the stateroom. ... heading is a straight line to Sydney. We should be 200 nautical miles south of the cyclone tomorrow and should see no effects from the storm. We spent the afternoon lounging around the pool. With the ship's rocking motion, the pool was like a wave pool which made it fun to swim in this afternoon. Susan and I are going to dinner by ourselves so Miranda, Burke and Carter can go to dinner with Burke's ...
