... Liz began to suffer from a bad back, so the girls and I packed sandwiches, fruit, and breton cakes….and headed for the beautiful Sables Blancs, just around the headland. It was getting genuinely hot, but we had forgotten our swimmies, so had to content ourselves with the FRISBEE! After lunch we walked back to the hotel and donned appropriate swim-wear (and fluffy white dressing gowns) and went for a dip in the sea. And I have to say that, after the initial shock, it felt ...

      Beauvoir to Lannion

Left the village of Beauvoir and drove along the coast towards Cancale. On the way we drove through little villages on the sea front. there are lovely beaches and quite a few tourists. Inland the scenery is just flat grassy land with dairy farms etc. when we reached Cancale there was a market but unfortunately there was nowhere we could park as is the case of most of the touristy places. It is a pretty ...

It is an amazing structure which was thought to have been built by Aubert, Bishop of Avranches as a sanctuary on Monte-Tombe in honour of the Archangel. In the 10th century Benedictines settled in the Abbey while a village grew ...

I had to look several times at my watch this morning to make sure my eyes were not playing tricks on me, it was 10.15 when everyone woke up. I'm not sure when the last time was that I slept until 10.15 but it is very possible that it was before I had any children so it was very nice to sleep so late today. A very lazy start to the day was enjoyed by all before we got ready to go for a little ride down to the coast. It was only a short ride, just a few kms and ...

      A whole load of crepes

A rubbish nights sleep last night due to disturbed children and not a long enough lie in this morning just about sums up the start of the day but we were on the road again this morning to move a bit further around the Brittany coast. A couple of hours drive was all we were doing so we got to the area near our campsite around lunchtime and went driving to look for the sea and somewhere to stop and have lunch. We found a spot and parked up and the girls started playing around ...
