... catch an earlier train but we ended up being stranded as the next train to Morlaix would not be for another couple of hours. So we found a nice bar and waited out our time watching the mens final of the French Open.

When we got back to Morlaix enjoyed a wonderful seafood dinner at a family run business.

The street leading up to the town centre is impressive with it's old buildings.

The cathedral with its cloister was interesting as it was built in stages over the years therefore displaying different architectural styles. It also houses the body of St Yves, the patron saint ...

... it looked as if we may go backwards it was so strong. But that was only for a short while.

We anchored in one of the bays on the island and then headed off in our dinghy to explore the island. Very pretty - there are no cars on the island (however there are numerous tractors. There was a great view of the island from St Michel chapel - the more impressive as the tide was out.

... there this evening so we thought why not give it a try. We returned at dinner time for some Breton tapas which was delicious and the chance to see the HL Trio in action. The place was absolutely rammed and the 3 guys playing were having a good time and it was just a lot of fun. Definitely not our normal thing that we do as a family and exactly the type of different experience we were hoping to have on our travels so we really got lucky in finding ...

... time we had left for the south. We walked past some lovely coves with boats left aground on the sand when the tide was out. This seems to be the standard thing as most boats are left dry when the tide goes out, unless they are in a marina or in much deeper water. We passed the Rosedo lighthouse and a cute old stone mill. The lilacs and other flowers in people’s gardens are lovely as are the wildflowers and gorse all along the paths.
