          ... including a kinda group, whose little legs were struggling with the climb. There was a zoo there as well, with baboons, reptiles, hogs, and believe it or not, KANGAROOS. They must have been there a while as they didn't seem to recognise us or our accents. They looked sad, and I felt sorry for them, caged up like that, so far from home.           So today we head off to the lock, to find it is running and OK to get through; we wonder if it just closed early? It's a very pretty run up to Besancon. We find limestone cliffs, pretty towns and holiday houses on the banks, and it's a still sunny day!
