... to the village. We strolled the route from our gite (rental) through town, past the church, bakeries, small shops and the mayor's office and a small open air market where we bought some fresh goat cheese. The walk took an hour.

Day 71 - Provence Provincial

... was a travel day, it also became a laundry day. It took a couple of hours to get caught up but we succeeded. Next it was off to Avignon supermarket for groceries for the week. We returned about 5:00 and settled in for the night. We lit a fire in the fireplace as the temperature in the old stone cottage was a bit cool. The fire, some jazz and some Côte de Rhine wine made for a lovely evening.

2 tablespoons olive oil

... hill we had driven down, the hillside around and below is terraced. There was a spring that fed a reservoir to water the gardens however it may have run dry as there was no water in the reservoir and no sign of running water anywhere.
