Well, it had to happen sooner or later and better for being later. After Easter, the tourist buses have finally appeared. All the back country roads aren't a deterrent and even in little Roussillon that we have tries to visit on two previous occasions had one at 10.30 am.

The title of today's entry doesn't really tell it like it was. We had booked for lunch at La Closerie at Ansois; a 1 Michelin star restaurant. It's half an hour away via our usual gorge drive. Always a good experience, and I am getting faster.

... a lounge room in a home. Large tables with dining chairs around them, lounge chairs and couches around coffee tables and a small bar with whatever wines are open sitting on the bar to buy by the glass. Jonathan introduced me to his favourite Pastis, which is a Luberon one with many more herbal characteristics than the Marseilles one I had bought. I can understand the appeal on a hot summers day.

We took the optional tour to the Pont du Gard. It was wonderful seeing this ancient treasure. It was interesting to learn that long after the Romans the people used the aqueduct as a road. It was a beautiful day. I wish we spent more time just sitting in the sun. Unfortunately, we went into the museum – it was by far the worst museum I've ever been ...
