... road, long route to get to this little villages main event- a fortress built high on a hill, overlooking the river. The fortress was built before the bridge, and had lead to the bridge being built, which in turn had brought the popes and inspired them to build their palace. The streets were deserted- aside from restaurant staff no one was about today, taking refuge from the heat, or stuck at work, who knows. It did mean we could stroll at our own place ...

Well, we stayed a few days at Valras Plage, not because it was all that fantastic - it wasn't, but it was comfortable, the sun was shining, the weather was good, the beach was nice and right at our doorstep, and we had all the facilities that one could ask for. We are sharing a room with our Korean friends, who we went out for dinner with tonight - it was a good outting. When we got back they have even given us gifts of postcards and bookmarks from their home town. They are so sweet. It will be sad that tomorrow is their last day with ...

... a very sweet couple and we had such a nice afternoon and evening with them! They also took the time to recommend the best sights in the area for us to visit and brought maps and pamphlets with them — so very thoughtful! We had such a nice evening with them, and are hoping they will come visit us in the US before too long.
We had such an enjoyable day at our Provence home today, and are ready for a full day out ...
