... tried this yet, but tomorrow I will have to to attend mass. It will be adventure for sure with my lack of Japanese.

I really enjoy the calmness of this place. I have been able to sit outside and listen to the birds in the morning. Akita is the perfect place to practice mindfulness and to rest your mind. I can't wait for the cherry blossoms. They say we have about another week!

... decorations influenced by the Momoyama Culture. They were beautiful, but I was not much impressed, because I knew the mausoleum was rebuilt after it was destroyed in the WWII and it was not designated as a national treasure any more. Date Tadamune's Kansenden and Tsunamune's Zennoden Mausoleums were located close to Zuihoden. Zennoden was rebuilt from imagination, because there were no materials enough to rebuild it.

Vi ankom Akita i to tiden, da Daniel plutselig oppdaget at kameraet hans var borte. Etter mye frem og tilbake måtte vi desverre innse at den var sporløst forsvunnet. Maks uflaks! Trøstespising måtte til, og turen gikk til ikke færre enn tre forskjellige restauranter for å spise. Gode, mette, og kanskje litt gladere tok ...

... way the sun happens to be cascading through the trees here or the detailed shadow of the spiders web on this chilly morning. In these photos there is no appreciation of light, of colour balance - only of subject matter.
And a photo is not worth its salt, the subject matter is without a key ingredient, unless a friend or a loved one, or even a random stranger, is stood in front of the prescribed view and holding up two fingers in a cutsey V.
