We survived the Chunnel train ride, despite fears of it caving in. We arrived in fine form,as the train was quick and efficient. We arrived in Paris in 2.5 hrs at 186 mph. We took a cab to our hotel in an area of Paris, known as St Germaine. Our hotel was really cool, on the upper floor of an old hotel, on Bou St Germaine. Early start to beat the crowd. We got up early and walked to the Musee d' Orsay (about 20 minutes) to be about 50 minutes before opening time, and the line to buy tickets was about 300 m long. Luckily we had bought tickets the day before and our que was only about 20 people. We are amazed at the way art draws crowds. They had a special section on display though, which included Van Gough. The Paintings here were simply amazing! But ...

... 4 per night family run B&B that we were quite looking forward to relaxing in for the first night of our adventure in the Cuban capital.

Fortunately we had a lot to catch up on, and so made the most of our day in France. We found a Carrefour and a park, and had a lovely picnic of baguette, cheese, crisps and carrots. Let's see if we actually make it to Cuba ...
