Le Novel Arcachon

After another very nice lunch with Mr. Mrs. Audoin, we drove to the hotel where we would have services and the wedding. We had a brief rehearsal to make sure all the details were covered.

Several people drove in from other areas, Normandy and Poitiers, so we had a larger group than usual in Bordeaux. At 2:30 we had our Sabbath service. I gave a brief news update on things that had happened since the Feast ...

... at 2:00, before the start of services. The wedding will follow shortly after the service. Helen asked if we could have a cell phone on line to her church area back in Michigan, and I told her that would be fine, though I wasn’t sure how well they’d be able to hear.

Every Sunday that we are aboard, instead of breakfast and lunch, we have a large Brunch with the crew and guests. It is served from 10 AM to 1:00 PM, and we can show up anytime between that time. ... some of the guests and crew on a tender to explore Cap Ferrat, a little fishing village on the very tip of a peninsula at the mouth of the Arcachon Bay. It's a little town with a very large lighthouse, a small harbor and a beach all long it’s western edge.

... took me just about four hours to drive to Sainte Foy la Grande, east of Bordeaux. I had a very pleasant visit and dinner with James and Odile Muir, who are very involved in the work of the Church in France and help with association work in particular. We spent a long time talking over dinner, cheese and dessert. James and I went over some financial statements for the end of the last fiscal year and discussed some paperwork and ...

Anyway whilst climbing up one side is probably only 40 metres, once you get carried away and run down the other side to the beach, the climb back up feels a little bit like "Laurence of Arabia"
