The "ruins" were to far away for our time crunch so i didn't get to them, but we went to an old cathedral where the knights of templar used to hang out alot. It was neato. I'll post more soon. Bergerac sure was neato! i shoulda taken pics of the rif-raf to show everyone. There were some punk kids hanging in the town square. I had prolly the best hamburger ever, which is weird since i'm from Nebraska. hmmmm..... I think all i'm doing here is eating, which is the opposite of what i wanted. Well it's finally happened! I'm in France! After 10 hours of 3 flights and an hour drive, i'm in my new residence and have been fed to the max. A home cooked meal was certainly what i needed after all the **** i consumed on the flights. I'm surrounded by endless grape vines and amazing scenery. It's like 70 degrees here and so nice. ... of Tonneins, right past the Information du Touristic, which was still open after 5pm!!! Went in to ask about camping. The municipal campground in town was closed - as of today. But there was another Toutes Annes campground just 4-5km in another town that we could camp at. A nice quiet place (with showers - most important). And wonder of wonders, it’s on a canal route that’s going in ...

We spent the entire afternoon canoeing down the Dordogne. We packed a lunch and found a nice spot along the river to enjoy some wine and cheese. It was so peaceful and beautiful. Every couple of Kilometers was anothe castle overlooking the river. The river was so flat that we could just float along and enjoy the view.

From the cousins house we moved further west to Neils parents house. They have a place in a beautiful old town. It is an old walled vilage on the hilltop overlooking the valley. The village is full of cobblestone streets, windy narrow alleys and cute little homes. We ate great meals, enjoyed excellent wine and spent time with Neils parents. thank you again for hosting us!

Stayed here in Biarritz - thought we would treat ourselves after the rough camping. Very nice indeed! LUXURY indeed.
