Shopping!

... at the cafes and it's anywhere from 4,50-7,10 (that's eros, so add a **** ton of dollars to that, AND no free refills). The "ruins" were to far away for our time crunch so i didn't get to them, but we went to an old cathedral where the knights of templar used to hang out alot. It was neato. I'll post more soon. Miss and love you all.

France perty.

Bergerac sure was neato! i shoulda taken pics of the rif-raf to show everyone. There were some punk kids hanging in the town square. I had prolly the best hamburger ever, which is weird since i'm from Nebraska. hmmmm..... I think all i'm doing here is eating, which is the opposite of what i wanted. I'll prolly come back 10 ponds heavier, or some matter of kilograms or whatever it is ...

Day Seized!

Well it's finally happened! I'm in France! After 10 hours of 3 flights and an hour drive, i'm in my new residence and have been fed to the max. A home cooked meal was certainly what i needed after all the **** i consumed on the flights. I'm surrounded by endless grape vines and amazing scenery. It's like 70 degrees here and so nice. The house i'm staying in is from the 1500's and it ...

The End?????

... of Tonneins, right past the Information du Touristic, which was still open after 5pm!!! Went in to ask about camping. The municipal campground in town was closed - as of today. But there was another Toutes Annes campground just 4-5km in another town that we could camp at. A nice quiet place (with showers - most important). And wonder of wonders, it’s on a canal route that’s going in ...

Conoeing the Dordogne

We spent the entire afternoon canoeing down the Dordogne. We packed a lunch and found a nice spot along the river to enjoy some wine and cheese. It was so peaceful and beautiful. Every couple of Kilometers was anothe castle overlooking the river. The river was so flat that we could just float along and enjoy the view.

Family, Food and Fun

From the cousins house we moved further west to Neils parents house. They have a place in a beautiful old town. It is an old walled vilage on the hilltop overlooking the valley. The village is full of cobblestone streets, windy narrow alleys and cute little homes. We ate great meals, enjoyed excellent wine and spent time with Neils parents. thank you again for hosting us!

The Travel Jinx

... out, hoping that with the end of the process, I would receive my 1€ change. Out came the photos, but no euro. Oh =( Machine ate my money. And, looking at the photo - haha! I am so pale, and have dark rings under my eyes, am sort of odd looking because I am working on holding my squat, and one eyebrow has started creeping up my forehead. Nice one. After this spot of business was completed, in came the other two ...

Stayed here in Biarritz - thought we would treat ourselves after the rough camping. Very nice indeed! LUXURY indeed.

The April Holiday.....merhaba!

... ask 'where do you come from?', direct you when your lost, and sell you something. Damn, they even knew NZers were kiwis and Australians were Aussies. Sarah arrived early that afternoon (obviously had had the same driver from the airport) and we wandered the aromatic and turkish streets that afternoon, relaxing in the city and enjoying the sun and culture. Went into The Blue Mosque that evening, and went out to dinner to test out the cuisine. Sunday morning, despite Sarah's jet-lag ...

Emma comes to visit!

... for my friday teaching, she became my show-and-tell item, as she stood in front of four consecutive classes of children as they asked her questions such as 'do you have chameleons in australia?' and 'do you have those little toy sized motor bikes in australia that are actually meant for adults?' ....good times. Afternoon tour of berge followed, and another evening of choc fondue at mariana's house (my new actual french friend who runs a scarf fashion ...
