... all. We were welcomed downstairs in the kitchen by a wonderful traditional French breakfast. She had picked up some fruit, cereal, honey, freshly churned butter, fruit compote , tea cake and, of course, a few baguettes.

After our delicious breakfast, we walked back down the steep cliff to our mega people mover and travelled to Sarlat to enjoy the sights and sounds of the weekly Saturday morning market in the centre of town. The brilliant sunshine warmed us all up.

... next to it. It was dark, very cold and now about 8 pm. Somehow, Chris found the “Ancient Post Office” which had been refitted as a four storey, three bedroom house. Back again for a second visit on the hunt for figs, walnuts and chestnuts. Loads of huge chestnuts but the figs and walnuts not ripe yet, shame as we have to move on! Excellent place alongside the Dordogne for walking and running but the Aire is a little scruffy with building work nearby and untidy ground, still very busy though. Some rain this morning but overall warmer and dryer as we move slowly south, Cahors later ...

Another lovely stopover on the banks of the La Vezere with excellent shade and views across the river to the old town. Hot and sunny on arrival but cloud has appeared and the temperature dropped.
