... We climbed out of Brian(s)con and headed to the Col du Lautaret. This was beautiful fast road with lost of curves but no switchbacks. Just a buzz to ride and climb into the blue sky through green alpine pastures. From their it was up to the Col de Galibier. At 2642m as its only slightly lower than Ruapehu (2797m), but the surrounding countryside could not have been more different.

Yesterday we took a field trip to the French Alps. It was by far the most beautiful thing I have ever seen and I had one of the best days of my life there! I never truly understood why everyone was so in awe over the mountains (all of them, not just the Alps) until I got to see the sunrise come up over the tips while climbing up the side of the mountain range. It was so breath taking ...

... hill, so much so that I ended up walking down that hill and picking up from there (I have awful form but my method was working most of the day). When I made it back down the hill and stopped, I decided it was time to stop doing things that could potentially hurt me and my clumsy self so I took my skis off and sat down in the town for awhile to just enjoy the scenery.

The resort has wifi surprisingly so I texted a few people to let them know I made it ...
