... the right-hand pair in row 10. The whole bus ride out I was standing next to a man, his wife (I assume here), his 6 kids and mother-in-law (or mother). Unfortunately the were split up across my section of the plane and the wife was sitting next to me. She didn’t really speak English, just a few basic words. The city is all decorated for Ramadan. Decorations are very nice and even the Katara cultural center is all lit up at night. We will try and take some pictures to share it with you all. As for me going without food from 7 to 3 is not really that bad. I guess if I had to do it until 6:30 it would be worse. The tough one for me is no water or coffee. I have to sneak off everyday and drink some water in a locked room. It all sound so illicit. But I just don't want to offend ...

Tunnels for the metro are being built through the city centre and at first glance daddy thought they were air conditioned walk ways. He was wrong as they were in fact covered conveyor belts being used to transport extracted sand to a site where dump trucks could pick up the load. This helps to avoid traffic problems at the construction site itself.

When we landed in Doha at 23:50 local time (21:50 UK time) we were met at the gate and, after all the other passengers had disembarked, we were taken to a supervisor who, it eventually ended up, could not change our seating but advised us to follow up when we returned to the terminal for our flight to Melbourne. We finally reached our hotel at 02:00 and collapsed into our very comfortable bed in our large hotel room adjacent to the Souq ...
