... meter which is illegal and was far more than the private cab which we took. ... BA and Virgin a right run for their money. The sun was setting as we flew over Saudi Arabia - what a glorious sunset, the colour of blood oranges. We felt very mellow, the world felt a very good place to be in. Having knocked back my first glass of SB in nine weeks, it rather went to my head. Graham commented that even for an airhead like me, my head was more in the clouds than usual....

... before leaving for the airport at 11pm for the flight to Melbourne. There were roadworks not far from the hotel and we were held up for over half an hour so we arrived later than we intended and got to the plane just as it was boarding. ... maybe I was dialing something incorrectly, so I showed the numbers to the guys at my hotel's front desk and they told me that I was dialing correctly.

Okay, time for another approach. Etihad has a toll-free number in the US. Maybe if I dialed the US international code on my Nepal mobile, then the toll-free number, I could avoid international long distance. Gotta say though I'm impressed with Qatar airlines, very friendly helpful good service... oh and Doha airport has the most amazing selection of aftershaves, I was smelling very very expensive after my ordeal :-) wouldn't have been so bad but I had no sleep night before to make sure I was up in time, 4am outside East Croydon station to get Heathrow bus, freezing! Thanks to Jamie for taking me!
