... look the closer we got to the Aegean Sea. It's olive harvesting time and everywhere the local people were out doing the back breaking work of gathering the olives from the ground. Apparently this area is known for olives, olive oil and sunflower oil production. The Pergamon Acropolis is an amazing thing perched above a town called Bergama. ... on the way up to Ephesus, is now used for farming and the rich soils and Mediterranean climate allows them to grow almost all types of citrus and stone fruits as well as hillsides covered with olive trees, which is their national tree. We entered at the highest entry point of Ephesus and then made our way walking through the old city ruins over a few hours, right to the bottom where we were picked up by our tour bus. ... Bed. Walking down the road to dinner I hear in a soft voice, Dan Sam.  I turn around and there is one of our friends, Steve & Lydia we met on the boat cruise. They were here for a night on their new tour. It was nice to have a chat and see them again!  We had some dinner, still not the homemade food we are looking for but still good enough. The restaurant we went to was recommended by Sandra from The ANZAC Golden Beds. Here we got some swimming Olympic action on their tv!  Next stop, ...
