Interesting as those points may be, the real reason for being here is it is the ancient capital of Germany and the birth, resting place and favourite place of Charlemagne.I am not sure if this joint has slipped under the radar and please let me know if anyone out there has been here but what a treasure trove of history lays in wait. This one was called the Home of Elves and the next one we went to was Market at Koln Cathedral. We were charmed with the first one and really happy we came. We spent all our money in this one and the other one was a yawn...nothing new or interesting. Don't we sound like ...

... Our apartment is lovely with a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, living room with a large screen TV and a nice bed room with a King size bed. The only thing wrong is the bed is foam but hard as a rock. We were told by the reception staffer that the stores were closed tomorrow so we should go shopping tonight. So off to the local low cost shopping store. Grocery shopping here can be quite affordable if you go to the discount stores first like Aldi ...
